PM Calls For People to Not Label Those Who Surrender to the Government as Traitors

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has called on those who submit to the government not to be labeled as traitors, because in a democracy, every citizen has the right to choose whichever side they prefer.

Speaking on the occasion of the 11th National Clean City Day on Monday afternoon, 27 February 2023, in Phnom Penh, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that those who insult and paint the civil organizations that joined the government in a bad light, call themselves democrats but they cannot sustain support because they have poor control.

"Those people have poor control, and only think of opposing everything," he said.

The Prime Minister made these remarks after members of the opposition attacked government affiliates in recent days. The Prime Minister said that the new government affiliates are young and have a bright future, and he told the opposition attacking to be careful because the new government affiliates can respond.
